QSI (Qatar Sports Investments), owner of Paris Saint-Germain since 2011, will continue to expand its influence in Europe. An official statement was released this Tuesday announcing an investment in KAS Eupen, currently 7th in the Belgian Second Division.
“QSI will eventually take full operational control of the club, including all associated sporting, commercial, and operational assets, within a very short timeframe.
(The three priorities are) the development of the youth academy, the modernization of infrastructure, and the strengthening of community engagement.
This investment reflects QSI’s core strategy of developing sporting assets, improving athlete development and pathways, and fostering high-performing environments within and between its group’s properties.”
This is not intended to call into question QSI’s presence at PSG. It is an addition, almost a complement, to a club that is currently in a different league. This could also facilitate loan deals or the discovery of young talent. At least for the moment, we are quite far from a possible “conflict” during the transfer window or a European competition.
