This Saturday, the women’s teams of Paris Saint-Germain (4th in the First League) and OL Lyonnes (1st in the league) faced off at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in the final of the 2025-2026 LFFP Cup. After the 0-1 defeat, coach Paulo César spoke to PSG TV.
Paulo César: “Little by little, we’re going to build something.”
What was missing in this final?
I think we lacked something in attack. We didn’t capitalize on what we set up. Defensively, the girls worked well and held their own. Today, we have to congratulate the opposing team, who were better than us. We need to focus on the French Cup and the league. Those are our objectives. The goal was to reach this final, and we did it. I’m proud of this team because we’re seeing a united and cohesive team. We need the results to follow, but little by little, we’re going to build something.
Paulo César: “We’re on the right track, we have to keep going.”
Great support from the fans?
Yes, it’s true that we saw a really great crowd. The girls aren’t used to playing with a crowd like that all the time; the reception was fantastic. This is a final we really wanted to win, even though the opposing team is very strong. I’m proud of the girls; they gave it their all. Now, this match shouldn’t decide our future. We’re on the right track, we have to keep going.
