Ousmane Dembélé, the 28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker, suffered a thigh injury in the French team’s 5-4 defeat by Spain in the Nations League, but will still be making the trip to the USA to take part in the Club World Cup.
Indeed, as reported by L’Equipe, this Tuesday the Parisians take off for Irvine in California to prepare for the Club World Cup, which kicks off this Saturday June 15 (9pm French time) against Atletico Madrid. Ousmane Dembélé, who is out with a thigh injury, will be taking part. After missing the start of the competition, the 2018 world champion will complete his rehabilitation at the local university campus in Irvine, before perhaps playing his first minutes.
Good news, then, for the Parisian club, whose strongest link has joined the squad for this competition. There’s no doubt that after the Champions League victory, each of the players is keen to repeat the feat by winning this first new edition of the Club World Cup.
