Paris Saint-Germain welcomed Aston Villa to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday for their Champions League quarter-final first leg (3-1, video highlights PSG/Aston Villa). Speaking to PSG TV, Nuno Mendes, the 22-year-old Parisian full-back, reflected on his side’s success.
Mendes “I tried to do something different”
“Yes, a two-goal lead gives us confidence. Now we need to rest a little because there’s still a second game to go. We’ll have to do the same thing and approach it in the same way as we did today.
My goal? I saw that the keeper was a bit close, so I tried to do something different and I succeeded. I’m very happy about that.”
Mendes “we can count on them.”
“The fans, since the beginning we know that they are there and that we can count on them. Now we’re going to do everything we can to give them joy, even more so than since the start of the season.”
