On the sidelines of a press conference on Saturday to discuss tomorrow’s Club World Cup 2025 Group Stage Matchday 1 at the Rose Bowl Stadium against Atlético de Madrid (kick-off 9pm CET, broadcast on DAZN), Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique was interviewed by PSG TV. The opportunity to talk about the energy, preparation and excitement of returning to competition.
Luis Enrique “It’s nice when there are memories of what we’ve done”.
How are you doing in terms of energy?
It’s nice when there are memories of what we’ve done. Life goes on and we have to think about preparing for the World Cup. I think the players are happy with what we’re doing, but we have to keep going and improve. What I’ve seen in training is pretty good, and it’s good to be back.
How is the preparation going, and how are you working with your group?
It’s the end of the season, so it’s different from what we’re used to. What I can say is that the ambition and generosity of the players and the team and it’s a very good time. We want to keep going.
Luis Enrique: “We have the chance to win the match and keep going”.
How do you feel about the match against Atletico Madrid?
We’re going to start with a European team that we know well. We played them in the Champions League and in the group phase, and it’s going to be tough. They’ve got a lot of quality, but it’s a new competition that may well become a benchmark. We need to be able to win the match and keep going, and our aim is to reach the final.
You haven’t lost your French, you’re doing really well!
Thank you very much. I try to improve my French every day. I study every day, but I need to improve.
