Bradley Barcola, the 23-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker, had to be substituted by Désiré Doué (20 years old) in the 58th minute of PSG’s match against Chelsea on Tuesday evening at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League round of 16 second leg. L’Equipe provided further details, including further tests.
“He was smiling, but his right ankle is injured. Bradley Barcola, who scored in PSG’s victory in London on Tuesday, boarded the team bus wearing an orthopedic boot on his right ankle. He will undergo tests upon his return to Paris on Wednesday.”
At the moment, a long-term injury is not suspected, but there are still concerns that something might be amiss. This could mean he misses at least this Saturday’s match in Nice (matchday 27), and possibly also the French national team’s matches during the international break that begins this Monday. Let’s hope it won’t be a longer absence. We should know more by Wednesday.
