Fabrice Abriel was sacked as coach of Paris Saint-Germain’s women’s team shortly before the end of the 2024-2025 season, and Paulo César filled in nicely for the last few games, but the position is still not officially filled for the 2025-2026 financial year. According to Achille Ash and IRP, PSG have finally closed this file by keeping the former Brazilian defender in place.
Achille Ash
“Paulo Cesar 🇧🇷 interim coach of PSG Féminin has reportedly been confirmed in recent hours by sports management as coach of the #PSG first team for two seasons.”
IRP :
“Paulo César confirmed as head coach of women’s team
After a successful interim period, Paulo César has been appointed head coach of the women’s team for the 2025-2026 season.
His mission will be to structure the project and reveal the group’s potential.”
It’s a credible announcement, especially as it’s made with a lot of certainty. And IRP is particularly reliable when it comes to PSG’s women. Also, keeping Paulo César makes sense. He got off to a great start and knows the club well.
For a position that can sometimes be difficult to fill, it’s a decision that would seem to make sense. Especially as the players also clearly appreciated his time at the end of the season. A good connection between the players and the PSG coach could do a world of good after a very difficult year under Abriel.
Let’s wait and see if this is confirmed, as there’s nothing official yet. But it should come quickly. It’s about time.
