Achraf Hakimi, 27, the Paris Saint-Germain right-back, has given reassuring news after his recent injury. Interviewed on Canal Football Club, he confirmed that the inflammation has significantly decreased and that he is working to be ready for the Africa Cup of Nations. This statement suggests a controlled return.

Hakimi: “It’s much better”

“It’s much better, the inflammation has subsided, it’s much better now. It doesn’t hurt. I’m positive, I’m focused, and I’m continuing to work hard with the goal of being fit for the Africa Cup of Nations.”

Achraf Hakimi’s ankle remains the focus of much discussion because the situation is doubly sensitive: PSG wants him back in full fitness, and Morocco is counting on him for the AFCON, which starts… at the end of December.

The inflammation has subsided, and the player wants to reassure everyone, but that doesn’t eliminate the uncertainty surrounding his exact return date. An ankle injury is never insignificant for a full-back whose entire career relies on balance, reaction time, and changes of pace.

Paris is therefore proceeding cautiously, and the Moroccan national team is monitoring every sign. Hakimi says he’s feeling better, but the equation remains delicate: returning early enough to regain match fitness without rushing things to the point of jeopardizing everything. It’s a countdown where every day gained is precious, but where the slightest haste can be far more costly than a few missed matches.
