On the sidelines of the match, Senny Mayulu, the 19-year-old attacking midfielder who scored the last goal of the game, expressed his delight to the press following this historic success for the club from the capital.
Mayulu “Everyone is filled with joy”.
“I remember when we were in the center, we were watching the Champions League, so there, to be able to score the fifth goal, frankly, it’s incredible. We were very proud and celebrated with our team-mates.”
What happened in the dressing room, was there a lot of relief ?
“Frankly, everyone broke down in their own way. Everyone is filled with joy. You could see it in their eyes. Filled with joy and pride. Now we’re going to go back to the hotel and enjoy each other.”
Mayulu “It was a final, anything could have happened and we stayed focused right to the end.”
You’re a Parisian, so you know how much this trophy means, how did you feel ?
“Honestly, it’s a lot of joy. As I’m a Parisian Titi, I have this love of the club attached to me. So to be able to win this first Champions League for PSG is incredible. We’ve made history, and I’m so proud. I can’t tell you in other words.”
What did you think of Désiré Doué’s match?
“I’m very proud of him. You can see how hard he works every day. He was very good in his game, and to score twice in the Champions League final is not something to be trivialized. Man of the match, frankly, we’re all proud of him. After that, it’s a collective effort and we’re all happy.”
Is it still historic to win a final 5-0?
“Yes, we prepared well for the match. We used video and so on, and we were able to win 5-0, so it’s a big score. But it was a final, anything could have happened and we stayed focused right to the end.”
