This Tuesday at 9pm (broadcast on Canal+ in France), Paris Saint-Germain (19th) take on PSV Eindhoven (24th) Parc des Princes as part of Matchday 3 of the 2024-2025 Champions League. At a press conference, Dutch coach Peter Bosz spoke about the Parisian opponents, with a requested comparison to that faced in the 2021-2022 season with Olympique Lyonnais.

Bosz « c’est plus difficile qu’il y a deux ans. »
“There’s a big difference. Without the 3 or 4 big players who were there at the time, this really is a team, with a coach who plays very attacking and dominant soccer.
Both teams are extraordinary, but winning against the team that’s here today is harder than it was two years ago.”
Bosz doesn’t forget to point out that PSG, with stars like Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé, had quality. Of course, it was a challenge to face them. But today’s very different team certainly poses more collective problems.
It’s a little more unpredictable when it comes to moving around and creating chances. There’s also more intense pressing and all the players are involved defensively. In years gone by, PSG could quickly become fragile because some players were disconnected.
Of course, today’s team also has things to improve. One of which is attacking efficiency and solidity from set-pieces. But we’re sure that Luis Enrique and the players will show tonight that PSG is a fine team. A point more often underlined by opposing coaches and players than by the French media.
