This Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain faced FC Nantes in the semi-final of the Coupe Gambardella (the equivalent of the Coupe de France for U18s). PSG won 2-3 and qualified for the final on May 22 against Montpellier.
The semi-final started strongly, with Nantes taking an early lead. But the Parisians responded perfectly, equalizing in the 11th minute (Pierre Mounguengue) and then making it 2-1 almost immediately (Mathis Jangeal). In a hard-fought match, they conceded an equalizer just before halftime, courtesy of an own goal by Emmanuel Mbemba.
Fortunately, at the end of a very tight second half, Toumani Diagouraga gave the Parisians the lead with a surprising goal (88th minute). A great performance against a strong team (undefeated domestically this season).
