In the margins of Friday’s press conference to discuss tomorrow’s Ligue 1 2024-2025 Matchday 8 at the Parc des Princes against Strasbourg (kick-off 9pm, broadcast on DAZN), Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique was interviewed by PSG TV. The interview was an opportunity to discuss his squad’s state of mind ahead of the return to action, what he expects from his players in general, and the Strasbourg team with coach Liam Rosenior.
Luis Enrique: “We want everyone to give a little something extra”.
What state of mind are the players in?
It’s a bit of a special week, because a lot of the players have been playing for the national team over the last few days. It’s difficult to come back, but they’re doing well, they’re in good shape and we’ve been able to work well.
Is Barcola scoring more goals this season something you’re asking him to do in particular?
Our aim is for all the players to give their all. Especially this season, we want everyone to give a little something extra so that the team can meet all its objectives. It’s not just for Barcola, it’s for every player in every position.
Luis Enrique “It’s a very talented team, with very young players.”
Strasbourg’s strengths with Rosenior?
It’s a very talented team, with very young players, perhaps the youngest team in the history of the championship. The coach is ambitious, with interesting attacking ideas. It’s going to be a very tough match, against a team that scores a lot. We’ll need to be focused from the very first minute.
