Warren Zaïre-Emery, Paris Saint-Germain’s 19-year-old midfielder, spoke to RTL Sports on Wednesday ahead of the Champions League final against Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena on May 31 (CET). He spoke in particular about the progress made by his team, who have coped very well with the departure last summer of Kylian Mbappé.
Zaire-Emery: “Above all, we’ve created a group, a team.”
Do you agree that something has changed at PSG ?
I’d say so, because the season we’re having is magnificent. We’re giving it our all. The coach and the staff are there to give the right advice and the right instructions. And I think it’s working well, and we’re giving him back what he’s giving us on the pitch.
We thought it would be difficult to replace Mbappé, but you’re in the final. How do you explain that ?
I saw that the coach had said that without Kylian we’d score more goals, and I don’t think he was wrong. The danger can come from anywhere, whether it’s the midfielders, the defenders or the strikers, who have scored a lot. Above all, I think we’ve created a group, a team that works for each other and gives its all at every match, that doesn’t count the effort. And I think it’s working well.
