Following the events surrounding the absence of former Paris Saint-Germain player Kylian Mbappé from Didier Deschamps’ latest squad, as well as the revelations about the former Paris striker’s trip to Sweden, the former Paris No. 7 ironically attacked his former club. PSG’s response, relayed by L’Equipe, was scathing.
“Honestly, 𝐜’𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞. PSG is responsible for everything with him. He hasn’t scored any goals (apart from penalties) for Madrid? That’s PSG.
He’s missed French national team matches even though he says he is, but he’s not injured? That’s PSG.
PSG is now making up stories in Sweden. 𝐎𝐧 𝐯𝐚 𝐥’𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞.”
Mbappé is no longer in Paris and all we do is talk about him. It’s time to let him go, really, and as for the player, it’s time to move on. It’s so embarrassing, all these childish stories. The separation has taken its toll, but PSG is at least right in its defense.
The Parisian club is not responsible for the player’s performance in Madrid, nor for his desire to stop playing games that count for little with the EDF, nor for his exit in Sweden. Besides, we remind you that in his free time, he has the right to do what he wants.
We can judge his actions, but we can also judge players on what they do on the pitch, and stop always looking for controversy. Once again, we have to move on, on both sides. There’s nothing good to come of it, either for PSG or for Mbappé.
