Achraf Hakimi, the 27-year-old right-back for Paris Saint-Germain, injured his right thigh during the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich. The question now is whether he will be available for PSG’s final against Arsenal on May 30th. According to RMC Sport, it’s quite likely.
“The news is good for Achraf Hakimi. Having injured his hamstring during the first leg, the Moroccan full-back was ruled out of the second leg of the Champions League semi-final. He is recovering well. And if all goes well, the 27-year-old, who will also be highly anticipated by Morocco at the World Cup, will indeed be available for PSG’s European final.”
We remain cautious, as we have too often seen the media misjudge the duration of injuries. However, Hakimi’s availability for the final seems highly probable. PSG’s medical report did not mention a particularly long injury. As with Lucas Chevalier (24 years old), he needed treatment in the “coming weeks.” This still leaves a degree of suspense, especially since a Champions League final isn’t played with doubts. We’ll have to wait for confirmation.
