This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain faces Arsenal at the Puskás Arena in Budapest in the 2025-2026 Champions League final (kick-off at 6 p.m. CET). PSG coach Luis Enrique must choose his starting eleven, taking into account the opponent, upcoming matches, and the risk of suspensions, after having selected the Parisian squad for this encounter.
There are always uncertainties surrounding Luis Enrique, given the strong competition and versatility within the squad. The Parisian coach is certainly capable of making a bold choice to surprise everyone, even if a starting lineup has become fairly established in the Champions League and there’s no reason to rotate the squad.
The doubts are particularly focused on the midfield, between Fabian Ruiz and Warren Zaïre-Emery. The former was the starting midfielder in the big matches last season and has recently demonstrated his place at the highest level. But the second player has grown in stature this season and also has a say in the matter, with a different profile. It would also be necessary to ensure that Zaïre-Emery doesn’t start at right-back, with Achraf Hakimi therefore fully fit for the final.
There might also be some question marks in attack, but Bradley Barcola seems well behind Désiré Doué in the pecking order today, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé are undisputed starters.
Possible lineup:
Kvaratskhelia – Dembélé – Doué
Ruiz – Vitinha – Neves
Mendes – Pacho – Marquinhos – Hakimi
Safonov.
Substitutes – Chevalier, Marin, Beraldo, Hernandez, Zabarnyi, Dro, Mayulu, Ndjantou, Zaïre-Emery, Barcola, Lee, Mbaye, Ramos.
Unavailable – None.
Possible suspensions for yellow cards: None, except for a red card.
