Paris Saint-Germain and Atalanta faced each other at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday for the first matchday of the 2025-2026 Champions League. The match ended with a 4-0 victory for the Parisian club. After the match, the Italian team’s coach, Ivan Juric, spoke at the press conference. He couldn’t help but praise Paris, even though he would have liked his team to have performed better.

How do you feel about the defeat?
They started very well; we should have done better, but we lost possession in a very dangerous position and they scored immediately. Then, we played 20 good minutes, where we saw a good Atalanta team, we had some chances to equalize, but we couldn’t take them.
The second goal, we conceded it too easily. It was a goal that I didn’t like at all. And after that, frankly, it was too difficult. Because, beyond the goals, the penalty, it was a matter of the style of play; it was very difficult.

Disappointed with your team?
We need to be very objective when analyzing this match. Because we have to see our mistakes, but also other aspects. We saw it with PSG against Inter Milan; they play at a different level. We shouldn’t criticize ourselves too much; I saw some things that give us hope.
