Paris Saint-Germain won 2-0 against Auxerre this Saturday at the Parc des Princes, in matchday 6 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. After the match, Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke at the press conference.
Enrique: “It’s a shame to see a match between Barcelona and PSG without these players.”
Do you have any information on Kvaratskhelia and Vitinha?
“We need to wait for the medical staff’s assessment tomorrow or the day after to see the type of injury they have.”
Is it concerning to be four days away from a match against Barcelona without 5 or 6 players?
“We have to be positive. It’s easy to be negative. In that sense, it’s a shame to see a match between Barcelona and PSG without these players.”
Enrique: “I have to congratulate these two players for what they did.”
Can you give us your initial analysis of the performance of the two PSG academy players who came on as substitutes?
“We always want to give opportunities to our academy players. They are part of the club’s identity. Today, they played a very good match, with a lot of personality and good energy. I have to congratulate these two players for what they did.”
Does seeing your defenders score give you confidence?
“We have to. We have to be positive. Knowing how to manage these situations is important. Injuries aren’t just for PSG, but for all teams with an intense schedule. It doesn’t matter who scores the goal. Today, we scored from set pieces, and that’s very important because we work on them regularly.”
Enrique: “We took Vitinha off because he felt a problem.”
Was Vitinha taken off because of an injury?
“After a match like the El Clásico, before a Champions League match, it’s always difficult for the players. Today, Auxerre defended very well.” We played a very good match. We know that in these circumstances it’s difficult. We took Vitinha off because he felt some discomfort. We didn’t want to take any risks because we don’t know if he’s injured or not.”
Enrique: “We are ready, regardless of the players or the location.”
Will Fabian Ruiz be available on Wednesday?
“I don’t know. Tomorrow we will start thinking about the match against Barcelona. One of the best teams in the world. They defend and attack like we do. I hope that the energy we will have starting tomorrow will be enough to recover some players. But we are ready, regardless of the players or the location.”
What is your assessment of Zabarnyi’s debut?
“Everything we’ve seen from him in these 4 or 5 matches he’s played has been very good. We are very happy with his performances and his personality.”
