Luis Enrique, head coach of Paris Saint-Germain (1st), spoke at a press conference this Monday ahead of his team’s clash with Bayern Munich (2nd) at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday (kick-off at 9 p.m., CET) for Matchday 4 of the 2025–2026 UEFA Champions League. On the sidelines of the event, the Spanish manager also spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “The most important thing is to control, to stay calm.”
How do you maintain the same intensity in this competition?
“It’s easier for a player to arrive at this competition already focused and connected. It’s normal — it’s a different competition, everyone wants to play it. For me, as a coach, the most important thing is to control, to calm things down. You shouldn’t be overly motivated.”
Luis Enrique: “It will be against a team that has only won so far.”
How do you view this match?
“We have to enjoy this game, with our supporters, at the Parc. It’s an incredible stadium and a very special atmosphere for us. In this competition, every game matters, but it truly starts to take shape in February or March.
Still, we approach every match with the mentality to win. It will be against a team that has done nothing but win. Our mentality will be the same as in other games. It will be very difficult, and that’s what makes it motivating for us as a team.”
