Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain (1st), held a press conference this Saturday ahead of facing Brest (12th) at the Parc des Princes tomorrow (kick-off at 9pm, CET) as part of the 33rd matchday of Ligue 1 2025-2026. Alongside this event, the Spaniard also spoke to PSG TV.

Luis Enrique: “It will be a final worthy of the Champions League.”

Happy birthday!

I’m very happy; it’s like a small family. We have a different connection than usual. It’s a real pleasure.

What are your feelings after qualifying for the Champions League final?

It feels good, clearly. When you see the last few matches, the way the team showed its level in the face of difficult moments, like injuries, it’s incredible. We’re still playing the best match as professionals. We were talking with the players about going there again. We have the joy of experiencing this and sharing it with the fans. It’s very special.

We want to win the league and prepare for the final. It’s Budapest, a city I know a little, which is very beautiful. The stadium is incredible. It will be a final worthy of the Champions League.

Luis Enrique: “We want to take advantage of the last match at the Parc des Princes to win, not mathematically, but 99% of the time, the title.”

It’s a very tight championship, it’s the final sprint. Do we need to win as soon as possible?

Absolutely, that’s been the objective since day one. This season, Lens is doing an incredible job. We want to take advantage of the last match at the Parc des Princes to win, not mathematically, but with 99% certainty, the title, our main objective. It’s the last one at the Parc, we want to finish like that.

Brest is struggling, what kind of match can we expect?

The Brest players have nothing to play for, but these are the best opportunities to showcase themselves individually and collectively. They’re a very good team with a top-level coach. They’ll be motivated; playing at the Parc des Princes is special, as is facing an opponent. That’s what we want; we want an opponent motivated to prove themselves, to win the championship clearly and fairly.
