This Sunday, as part of Matchday 33 of Ligue 1 2025-2026, Paris Saint-Germain faced Brest at the Parc des Princes. Eric Roy, the Brest coach, spoke to Ligue1+ after PSG’s 1-0 victory.
Roy: “I regret a few situations where we played rather poorly.”
Is it important to rediscover a good mentality?
Yes, I think we played a good match, the match we wanted to play. I regret a few situations where we played rather poorly, mainly because we lacked a bit of technical control.
Overall, I have nothing to criticize the players for. They gave their all, and against this team, we failed to close down the middle once, we couldn’t, and we lost.
Roy: “Against this team, we are punished quickly.” “
Did you want the full-backs to be more involved in the attack?
Yes, for once, we played with center-backs and two wing-backs. I think it was to manage the width because this PSG side has the talent to spread you wide. We wanted more density across the pitch and we wanted to cause them problems with those wing-backs.
We tried to do that, sometimes well, sometimes less so; sometimes we lacked a bit of precision to fully realize our ideas. But overall, congratulations to the lads, they did what I asked and they’re disappointed, which is normal. Against this team, you get punished quickly.”
