Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain (1st in Ligue 1), held a press conference this Tuesday ahead of facing Chelsea (6th in the Premier League) at the Parc des Princes tomorrow (kick-off at 9pm, CET) in the first leg of the round of 16 (second leg on March 17) of the 2025-2026 Champions League. On the sidelines of this event, the Spaniard also spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “We’re aiming to win both matches.”
What’s your approach with the team?
It’s normal! We’re in a very motivated period, we want to play in the best club competition. It’s very important for us. Playing at the Parc des Princes is always special. No matter the result of the last match, the fans are there. It’s important to prepare well and aim to win the match to move towards qualification.
The keys to the match?
There will be different moments during the two matches; we mustn’t forget the return leg. That doesn’t change anything for us; we’re aiming to win both matches. But you have to know that they’re a real team, strong with and without the ball, individually and collectively. We’ll be very motivated.
Luis Enrique: “We know we’re very strong when we’re all together.”
The strength of the fans?
Absolutely, it’s incredible. In the last match, I could hear the fans the whole time. It’s amazing. We want to improve our performances. There are ups and downs in a season. We know we’re very strong when we’re all together. We want to improve.
