This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain will face Flamengo at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan, Doha (Qatar), in the final of the 2025 Intercontinental Cup (kick-off at 6:00 p.m.,CET). On Monday, Le Parisien provided an update on the training session, with two players returning.
Mayulu the only missing aside from Hakimi
“Only Senny Mayulu, who stayed in Paris on Sunday due to a viral illness, was missing. The young Parisian talent is feeling better and will rejoin the squad in the coming hours.
Captain Marquinhos, who is recovering from muscle fatigue in his right hip picked up against Bilbao (0-0), was back on the pitch. The Brazilian defender was able to test his feelings with and without the ball and take part in several drills.
Ousmane Dembélé also got back into rhythm in Qatar. The Ballon d’Or winner notably took part in ball-retention exercises in tight spaces.”
Marquinhos (31-year-old centre-back and captain) and Ousmane Dembélé (28-year-old forward), who had been absent in recent days due to minor muscle fatigue and illness respectively, have therefore returned to the group and appear available for Wednesday’s match. Final confirmation will come on matchday, with the official line-ups revealing whether they can start. In any case, they represent valuable reinforcements.
As for Mayulu, who was a late withdrawal against Metz on Saturday, optimism is growing that PSG’s medical room is close to being empty. Only Achraf Hakimi remains sidelined, with the 27-year-old right-back completing his ankle treatment with Morocco ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (opening match on Sunday, December 21).
