This Friday, the women’s teams of Paris Saint-Germain and Montpellier faced each other at the PSG Campus as part of Matchday 10 of the 2025–2026 Arkema Première Ligue. After the 2–2 draw, head coach Paulo César spoke to PSG TV.
Paulo César: “It was an off day.”
“There is frustration at not delivering a performance as good as in previous matches. But afterwards, we came back with a lot of personality and courage.
That’s part of the game. Today was an off day, and fortunately the players had the courage to equalize. We’ve had a difficult week, but we have to keep moving forward. We still have two matches before the break, and we’ll need to put in all the necessary ingredients to win them.”
The PSG women’s team clearly struggled to process their Champions League elimination earlier this week. Not everything went wrong, but there was a clear collective issue. These things happen — a match where you’re slightly below your usual level. It’s important that this remains just a one-off, especially as Paris must qualify for next season’s Champions League.
At least the damage was limited thanks to a late goal that avoided defeat. It shows a certain level of determination within the squad and an ability to respond in difficult moments, which shouldn’t be overlooked. Now the focus shifts to the end of the year, with the highly anticipated match against Paris FC next weekend, while Wednesday’s game against Benfica carries far less significance.
