This victory was hardly surprising, as Safonov was the hero of the penalty shootout with four saves. It was a major and decisive performance. However, Warren Zaïre-Emery (19-year-old midfielder) was also a contender for his overall contribution. The young Parisian impressed, once again filling in at right-back. His inclusion on the podium is well-deserved.
Especially since the rest of the team lacked consistency. Vitinha (25-year-old midfielder) narrowly missed the podium with a relatively positive performance, but far from his best.
