In Matchday 6 of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain hosted Le Mans at the Parc des Princes and secured a 3-1 victory. After the match, Luis Enrique, the capital club’s manager, spoke to PSG TV about the result.
Luis Enrique: “The Le Mans team was very brave.”
“It was an almost perfect result. We conceded a goal, and things got complicated. But looking at our performance—and knowing we had anticipated a tough challenge—I’d say the team showed great courage. We controlled the match, though it wasn’t easy; I have to highlight the way Le Mans played—they were very brave.
It was a tough game, but it’s a pleasure to play against such a courageous side. Securing these three points was important for us; we need more to reach the top spot. Now we turn our attention back to the Champions League—it’s a wonderful competition, and we love playing these kinds of matches. Playing away against an English team will obviously be difficult, but we’re ready.”
It was an important victory for PSG, who are maintaining their momentum in the league and steadily climbing the standings. The match was a hard-fought, entertaining affair, with Le Mans showing the boldness to push out of their own half, create chances, and even get back into the game. Unfortunately for them, PSG’s superior quality shone through, and they turned up the heat in the second half.
The first half, however, was a bit of a mixed bag for the capital club, as they failed to extend their lead and dash their opponents’ hopes. It was in the second half that we saw PSG at their best, creating numerous chances that were rewarded with goals. This is a very good result ahead of the return to Champions League action this Wednesday, with an away trip to London to face Manchester City.
