This Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain (1st) faces Lens (8th) at the Parc des Princes in Matchday 1 of the 2025-2026 Champions League (kick-off at 9 p.m., CET). A match for which Fabian Ruiz (29-year-old midfielder) is at best highly uncertain. He wasn’t in training with the squad this Thursday, according to journalist Loïc Tanzi.

“To be confirmed with the medical update this Saturday, but everything indicates that Fabian Ruiz, victim of a muscle injury, should miss the reception of Lens on Sunday.”
I think so too; he wasn’t in training already.”
This is a tough blow, as Désiré Doué (20-year-old midfielder/forward) and Ousmane Dembélé (28-year-old forward) are already out for several weeks. Ruiz was rested by Spain due to injury, but there has been no further details.
It’s unclear how long the Spanish international will be out, but we can only hope it won’t be too long. He would be one more valuable asset missing and another difficulty in managing the squad.
