Bradley Barcola, the 23-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward, suffered a sprained ankle before the international break during the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Chelsea. His return is gradually taking shape, and Djamel provided an update on Sunday regarding the Parisian number 29’s progress.
“Bradley Barcola is continuing his rehabilitation. The Parisian winger has been able to resume indoor training and is now doing some individual running.
He hasn’t yet returned to full team training: he is already ruled out for the first leg against Liverpool. The medical staff is closely monitoring his progress, and no risks will be taken.”
PSG released a video last Monday showing Barcola working out indoors. Since then, he has been able to take another step forward with running on the pitch. This is important and encouraging, but not enough to play anytime soon. He needs to get back to playing with the ball, and then rejoin the team. This could happen soon, but not as early as the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool this Wednesday. And the return leg on April 14th will be difficult.
