This Sunday, during Matchday 30 of Ligue 1 2025-2026, Paris Saint-Germain faced Olympique Lyonnais at the Parc des Princes. After a match where the Rouge et Bleu dominated but didn’t sufficiently trouble Lyon, they lost 1-2. Here are our player ratings for the Parisians.
Goalkeeper –
Matvey Safonov (6) – Two goals in the first half; he probably couldn’t have done much better on the second. He had little to do otherwise. A quiet second half, even though he made two good saves to keep his team in the game.
Defenders –
Achraf Hakimi (4.5) – We haven’t seen the “great” Achraf Hakimi yet. You can tell he sometimes struggles to make a difference. Overall, he’s less influential.
Ilya Zabarnyi (4.5) – His slowness is worrying, especially given PSG’s high press. He struggled when running towards his own goal, as always. Otherwise, it was a decent first half. You get the feeling he needs to be kept at bay.
Willian Pacho (5) – A decent match from him. He closed down Lyon’s attacks better after the two goals. A solid performance, but like Zabarnyi, he lacked the courage to carry the ball forward more against a team that didn’t press them much.
Lucas Hernandez (4) – He has character, he fights hard, but technically, he’s very different from Nuno Mendes. The team is less attacking on the left wing, and Barcola seemed quite isolated in the first half. A lot of fouls, a lot of cunning, but ultimately few solutions from the international player.
Midfielders –
Lucas Beraldo (5) – A good first half overall. He also missed many opportunities to carry the ball forward. This made PSG’s play rather sterile.
Vitinha (5) – He went off injured in the 39th minute. Before that, he seemed physically sluggish and, above all, didn’t try hard enough to break lines. Replaced by Warren Zaïre-Emery in the 39th minute (5.5) – A courageous and energetic entrance, but few attacking passes, little danger. Controlled, but lacking flair.
Senny Mayulu (3) – He never managed to make an impact on the game. Replaced in the 59th minute by Lee Kang-in.
Forwards –
Bradley Barcola (3) – He grew into the game towards the end of the first half. Isolated and lacking match fitness, he wasn’t able to fully express himself in the first half. Not prominent enough. Substituted by Fabian Ruiz in the 72nd minute.
Gonçalo Ramos (3) – It’s terrible for him; he did some good things, especially as a target man. His missed penalty tells an unfortunate story for him. But he can’t be completely absolved either. His penalty was very poorly taken. A very bad night for him. Substituted in the 59th minute by Ousmane Dembélé.
Désiré Doué (4) – Lively, he caused Lyon problems at times in the first half. However, he lacked that spark to really make the difference. He’s missing something to make his game more decisive. He doesn’t play simply enough often. Substituted in the 59th minute by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (4) – It’s terrible for him; his messages didn’t get through. He failed to lead his mixed team to victory.
