Paris Saint-Germain has officially demanded 440 million euros from its former player Kylian Mbappé (26), during a hearing before the Paris labour court, according to Me Renaud Semerdjian, one of the club’s seven legal representatives. The club outlines an overall damage claim linked to an agreement dated August 2023, which it accuses the forward of having concealed.

“It is indeed 440 million that we are claiming,” clarified Me Renaud Semerdjian, one of Paris Saint-Germain’s seven legal representatives, as he left the hearing — even though the figure of 240 million had been mentioned earlier. The lawyer then detailed how this claim was broken down: “20 million for image damage, 60 million for bad faith in carrying out an agreement dated August 2023, 180 million for concealing that agreement, and 180 million for the loss of opportunity to transfer the player.”
In total, 440 million euros demanded by the club — which referred to a failed transfer of Mbappé to Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 — from its former employee”.
The figure made everyone in the courthouse corridor jump: Paris Saint-Germain is indeed seeking 440 million euros from Kylian Mbappé (26). Behind this staggering amount, the club attempted to outline a chain of damages, insisting on an agreement signed in August 2023 that the forward allegedly carried out in bad faith before concealing it.
Paris even claims that a massive transfer to Al-Hilal — discussed in the summer of 2023 — could have materialized had it not been for this lack of transparency. The club’s lawyer detailed the sums involved: €20 million for image damage, €60 million for wrongful execution of the agreement, €180 million for concealing it, and €180 million for loss of opportunity on the transfer market.
PSG is therefore putting forward a heavy case, illustrating how the breakdown between the club and its former icon has turned into a genuine legal battleground. In this affair, each financial line also reflects the sporting and political rift that marked the end of the Mbappé era in Paris.
