Last Saturday, on the sidelines of the Ligue 1 match against Metz, two Paris Saint-Germain supporter groups, Parias Cohortis and Urban Paris, both part of the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP), were involved in brawls. The CUP is taking action against them tonight for the Champions League playoff second leg (PSG won the first leg 3-2) against AS Monaco at the Parc des Princes (kick-off at 9 pm, CET). This is according to L’Equipe, as PSG seeks to calm tensions and the authorities have “demanded answers.”

“Two groups will not be allowed to join the Auteuil Stand: members of Parias Cohortis (CP) and Urban Paris (UP), involved in brawls that occurred Saturday evening after the match against Metz (3-0), have been asked not to go to the Parc des Princes for the game against AS Monaco following a decision by the CUP.”

The two ultra groups at Paris Saint-Germain have been experiencing tensions since the 2025 Champions League final. Associated with the ultras of Celtic Glasgow – some of whom were present in Munich – the CP (Collectif Ultras Paris) had an altercation with the UP (Unité Populaire), who are friends with those of AIK Stockholm. As is often the case in the ultras world, associations, friendships, and agreements can lead to conflicts. The two Parisian groups thus find themselves caught in the middle of tensions between the Scottish and Swedish ultras, with whom they show solidarity.

Unfortunately, it is sometimes difficult to get all the supporter groups to coexist, even within the same club. It is absolutely essential to calm the situation; nobody wants a return to the incidents at the Parc des Princes. Or at any other stadium, for that matter. This sanction against the Collectif Ultras Paris is undoubtedly intended to reiterate the firm stance against bad behavior and the desire to move forward in a healthy atmosphere. This is a crucial point for regaining more freedom, a major struggle for the Ultras.
