On Friday evening, the women’s teams of Paris Saint-Germain and Montpellier faced off at the PSG Campus during the 6th matchday of the 2026-2027 Première Ligue Arkéma. Following PSG’s victory 1-0, Paris coach Paulo César spoke to PSG TV.
Paulo César: “We got the three points, and that’s what matters most.”
“I’m happy; we secured the three points, which is the most important thing. We controlled the match well in the first half, though there were more errors afterward. We couldn’t maintain the same intensity—we pushed for a second goal, but it didn’t come. It was crucial to win and take home the three points.”
Paulo César: “We must keep improving.”
“I believe we’re on a positive trajectory, despite the defeat against Lyon; the players are showing great solidarity. There are some very promising things happening on the pitch. We’re feeling confident, but we need to keep progressing and performing well to continue picking up points.”
Naturally, it’s important to be satisfied with the win—especially given the circumstances, following a 4-0 loss to Olympique Lyonnais and weather conditions that were far from ideal for playing. While the match wasn’t decided solely by grit, fighting spirit played a particularly significant role.
The Parisian side rose to the occasion, securing the essential result by taking all 3 points—a far from trivial achievement. Even so, this positive outcome doesn’t change the fact that PSG should aim for even better performances. Paulo César is well aware of this. There is still work to be done to assert control more comfortably in these matches and to be well-equipped to face the top teams, such as OL.
