Paris Saint-Germain defeated Nantes 3-0 this Wednesday at the Parc des Princes in a rescheduled match from Matchday 26 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. After the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique spoke at a press conference.
Luis Enrique: “We played a very good match.”
PSG needed to bounce back after their defeat against Lyon. Was it a perfect evening?
“Almost perfect. It was important to win this match. We clearly deserved the victory. We were able to see different players who don’t usually play. But I’m happy, we played a very good match.”
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia really enjoys playing on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, doesn’t he?
“Yes, but he was mistaken, he thought it was the Champions League (smiles). No, I think it’s in these moments that you can see the level of the players.” Kvara has shown his abilities and character all year long.
Luis Enrique: “There are also clubs in Ligue 2 that I’d like to see in Ligue 1.”
How does it make you feel to see a club like Nantes close to being relegated back to Ligue 2?
“In every league, there are teams with a great history that are struggling. That’s how it is, that’s top-level football. But when you see Nantes, their stadium, it’s special, it’s unique. There are also clubs in Ligue 2 that I’d like to see in Ligue 1, like Saint-Étienne. But that’s the way it is, you have to accept it.”
Was the league decided tonight?
“I think that when you see how Lens had a good season, they still want to improve and play better. We want to win the league, but it will be close.” We’ll have to play away against them, and we know how important this match is. We need to prepare for this weekend’s game, and we’ll also know their result beforehand, which is important.
Luis Enrique: “We showed what kind of team, what kind of club we are.”
The attacking trio was very prolific tonight. What are your thoughts on that?
“That’s what we’ve shown all year, especially during this second half of the season. You obviously talk a lot about the players who score, but for me, it’s very important to also talk about players like Beraldo, Dro Fernandez, or João Neves, who were phenomenal. For me, it’s important to recognize the whole team.”
It was Nasser Al-Khelaïfi’s 800th match. Do you have a message for him?
“Of course, for us, for the staff, it’s very important.” I obviously wish him another 800 matches. It’s a real pleasure to be here. And the one who gives us confidence and supports us is the president. We’ve shown what kind of team, what kind of club we are, and it’s important to keep going.
