Ousmane Dembélé, the 28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker, stopped in the mixed zone after the 5-0 victory against Olympique de Marseille this Sunday at the Parc des Princes, in the 21st round of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season.
Dembélé: “There are still important matches to come, and we’re going to try to be ready.”
An important night for the team?
As I said, it’s an important match for all Parisians. Winning this match is a great way to send a message.
PSG had never inflicted such a defeat on Marseille before. Does that mean something extra?
Yeah, I think the fans are going to wake up with huge smiles tomorrow morning. We’re happy with the work we did in this match. There are still important matches to come, and we’re going to try to be ready for the second half of the season. This season is important for us.
Last year, we needed a turning point against City. Is that the kind of match you needed?
Yes, that’s it. I think we managed the first half of the season well, because last season was much more difficult. We know the important moments are coming. Whether it’s in Ligue 1 or the Champions League, we know Lens is always there, behind us, and we’re going to give it our all.
Dembélé: “It’s instinct.”
Is this a turning point in your season?
Yes, because in the first half of the season I had a lot of physical problems, and now I feel much better. I’m getting into a good rhythm, and with the matches coming thick and fast, I’m getting better and better.
One of your best goals (the second one)?
I don’t know, because I was told that in Lille it was already a beautiful goal. But then, well, it’s instinct. I put a lot of intensity into the first few touches, beat two defenders, and then just had to shoot.
It’s magnificent. It’s an important match; we were determined to win this one. We knew Lens had won yesterday, so we had to get back in front.
