This Thursday, Paris Saint-Germain faces Olympique de Marseille at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait for the 2025 Trophée des Champions (kick-off at 7 p.m. CET). On Wednesday, L’Equipe published its predicted starting lineups.
PSG (4-3-3) –
Kvaratskhelia – Dembélé – Doué
Ruiz – Vitinha – Neves
Mendes – Pacho – Marquinhos – Zaïre-Emery
Chevalier
OM (3-4-3) –
Paixão – Aubameyang – Greenwood
Emerson – Kondogbia – Höjbjerg – Weah
Medina – Balerdi – Pavard
Rulli
These are all perfectly viable lineups, with both clubs seemingly taking this trophy very seriously, even if some fans are turning their backs on it due to the format (midweek during the season and in Kuwait). There’s still a title to be won, PSG can’t afford to neglect it, and OM too rarely gets the chance to let it slip away.
Especially since it’s against their historic rival, which adds extra spice to the match. Given the absences, a starting eleven is expected from each side. However, some questions remain. For example, whether Khvicha Kvaratskhelia or Bradley Barcola will start on the left wing for PSG. For Marseille, we could see Matt O’Riley in midfield or Amine Gouiri up front.
