This is certainly not PSG’s best performance in the last two years. In the end, however, there is still the victory, and that’s what we can take away from this PSG side. Even without playing brilliantly, victory is often the result. That gives confidence for the future, even if you can tell that physically (and consequently) technically, there’s still work to be done.
The midfield was a bit subdued on Thursday, the attack is still searching for its best form, and Hakimi is sorely missed. Fortunately, Chevalier stepped up as a hero, which is good for confidence and for what lies ahead.
