Désiré Doué, the 20-year-old midfielder/forward for Paris Saint-Germain, stopped in the mixed zone after the 2-1 victory against Paris FC this Sunday at the Parc des Princes, in the 17th round of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season.
Doué: “It was important to show that we are Paris Saint-Germain.”
A victory that wasn’t so easy against Paris FC after all?
We knew very well that it was going to be a complicated match, as always. There are always things you have to do to beat an opponent. They were playing with a deep defensive block, so we had to find solutions to create chances and score. We managed to do that, which is great.
A special feeling?
Of course, we were determined to win this match. We are PSG, it was Paris FC, it was important to show that we are Paris Saint-Germain and to win.
The start of a rivalry?
I think so, that’s why it’s called a derby.
Doué: “We work very hard to improve.”
What are the ingredients for an even better season?
You always have to question yourself. In these kinds of matches, we know there are always things to improve. We work very hard to improve.
Against a deep-lying defense, what does the coach ask of you individually?
He often asks the wingers to create chances, combine, and get into shooting positions. Knowing how to do what’s necessary, whether it’s shooting, crossing, or dribbling.
How are you physically?
I feel very good, very good at the club too. I only recently came back. I’m grateful to be on the pitch. It’s important for me to play.
Doué: “We want to go after him every time.”
“Is Dembélé back in form?”
“Ousmane, you know he’s exceptional. He’s helped us a lot. He plays a very important role in the team. He’s a leader, and he had a very good match.”
Is PSG satisfied before the Champions Trophy on Thursday against Marseille?
“No, we have to win as many trophies as possible. We want to go and win it every time. Plus, it’s Marseille, so there will be even more at stake. We have to go and win it.”
