The Parc des Princes hosted another derby, welcoming Paris FC for Matchday 17 of Ligue 1. And in this first match of 2026, Paris Saint-Germain found the back of the net twice, securing a 2-1 victory against their local rivals, PFC. Luis Enrique, annoyed by the threat of the match being abandoned at the end, spoke to Ligue 1+.
Luis Enrique: “I prefer to stay focused on the match.”
What do you think of the celebration?
It’s always good to celebrate, but I prefer to stay focused on the match.
Luis Enrique: “The situation surrounding the match annoyed me.”
A lack of control? Were you annoyed?
Getting angry with my team? No, but the situation surrounding the match annoyed me. Regarding the fact that the match could have been stopped because of the chants, whether we’re going to Marseille, Lyon, or Nantes, it’s the same thing, but each time it only concerns PSG. This kind of decision is tiring. I feel it’s unfair.
Luis Enrique: “It was more complicated.”
And about the match?
We were superior in the first half, but the second half was more complicated. In the end, it’s three points, and I think they’re deserved.
