Paris Saint-Germain won (2-2, then 4-3 on penalties) against Tottenham this Wednesday at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine as part of the 2025 European Super Cup. After the match, Parisian striker Ousmane Dembélé, 28, spoke to Canal+.
Dembélé: “I told myself we’d done the hardest part.”
It’s crazy, with 10 minutes left we thought it was over. Where did you find the resources?
Yes, it was difficult, it was our first match. We’re playing in this final, and we told ourselves that with 2-0 down, there was no time to think, and we had to score a goal and get back into the game. That’s what we did with the entry of Gonçalo, Ibé and Kang-in, you did us a lot of good and they made the difference. We scored that goal and there we were at 2-2, on penalties, I told myself that we had done the hardest part. I think Lucas will save the penalties and we will win.
Dembélé: “It’s good for his debut too.”
Is Lucas Chevalier strong?
Yes, he’s strong, it’s a bit scripted (laughs), he’s coming into the penalty shootout… It’s good for his debut too. It’s good for all the players after only one week of training. It was tough, we’re winning this great UEFA Cup.
To deserve this star?
Yes, last season we had a great season. We won a lot of trophies and we’re still hungry to win more.
