This Wednesday, during Matchday 5 of the 2025-2026 Champions League group stage, Paris Saint-Germain (5th) faces Tottenham (10th) at the Parc des Princes (kick-off at 9 pm, CET). Ahead of this match, the press has been trying to predict the starting lineup that Parisian coach Luis Enrique will field.
Le Parisien (4-3-3) –
Kvaratskhelia – Mayulu – Barcola
Ruiz – Vitinha – Neves
Mendes – Pacho – Marquinhos – Zaïre-Emery
Chevalier.
L’Equipe (4-3-3) –
Barcola – Kvaratskhelia – Lee
Ruiz – Vitinha – Neves
Mendes – Pacho – Marquinhos – Zaïre-Emery
Chevalier.
Each lineup is a possibility, but nothing is certain. Coach Luis Enrique doesn’t give any hints to the press, whom he knows how to surprise. He doesn’t even surprise the opposition or the fans. And that’s a good thing. There are doubts surrounding the management of each player (the need for rest, confidence, and match fitness), the competition for places, and the analysis he and his staff have done of the opposing team’s play.
For this match, there are a few doubts. Especially regarding the number 9, or rather the “false 9.” Gonçalo Ramos would be a surprise, given his struggles to convince as a starter. There’s Senny Mayulu, a regular starter in the Champions League, but he seems to be showing signs of fatigue lately. It could then be Lee Kang-In, who has been in good form recently but hasn’t played in this role for a while. L’Equipe is trying Kvaratskhelia, it’s not impossible but he has often been uncomfortable in the centre.
