This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain (5th) faces Tottenham (10th) at the Parc des Princes for Matchday 5 of the 2025-2026 Champions League (kick-off at 9 pm, CET). PSG coach Luis Enrique must choose his starting eleven, taking into account the opponent, upcoming matches, and the risk of suspensions, after having selected the squad for this encounter.
It’s always difficult to predict Luis Enrique’s choices, as he always manages to surprise with his game management, the competition for places, and his analysis of the opponent. While it might be a little simpler in the Champions League, where the idea is quite clearly to field the best possible team without thinking about the next match, rest periods are planned with this European fixture in mind.
But doubts remain amidst fierce competition and a thorough analysis of the opposition. This is particularly true at the number 9 position, where no one has yet fully established themselves. It could still be Senny Mayulu (19 years old), but he has been somewhat less effective recently. Lee Kang-In (24 years old) hasn’t played in this role lately, Gonçalo Ramos (24-year-old striker) isn’t decisive enough, while Bradley Barcola (23 years old) and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (24 years old) are not comfortable in this position.
Possible lineup:
Barcola – Lee – Kvaratskhelia
Ruiz – Vitinha – Neves
Mendes – Pacho – Marquinhos – Zaïre-Emery
Chevalier.
Substitutes – Safonov, James, Beraldo, Hernandez, Zabarnyi, Mayulu, Ndjantou, Dembélé, Mbaye, Ramos.
Unavailable – Doué, Hakimi (injury).
Possible suspension for yellow card: Nuno Mendes.
It would be effective against Athletic Bilbao on Matchday 6, December 10th.
