Paris Saint-Germain travelled to face AS Saint-Étienne on Saturday as part of Ligue 1 Matchday 27 (1-6). Désiré Doué, the 19-year-old midfielder, scored twice, including a magnificent goal, and spoke to PSG TV about his performance.
Doué “Every time we score, we want to score one more”.
“We were able to get back into it in the second half and bring home the 3 points today, we take a big lead and that’s great. It’s good to be back with the team and our team-mates, to be able to perform with them. Today I was a goalscorer, I could also have been an assistant, but even if I don’t score the most important thing is to perform as part of the team, so it’s great. Every time we score, we want to score one more, so we’ve got to keep going like this.”
Désiré Doué is one of the team’s strongest links. We often talk about Kylian Mbappé’s precocity and his performances when he was just 18, but we also need to take a closer look at those of Désiré Doué.
In a team aiming for the European summit, he stands out for his technique, elegance and accuracy in front of goal. As well as being a promising player with enormous room for improvement, he is a player who is already making a difference.
With the evolution of each player and the passage of time, we now understand a little better why PSG went for Désiré Doué rather than other talented players who now pose more problems than they solve.
