This Saturday, during the 7th matchday of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faced Strasbourg at the Stade de la Meinau. In a match where the Rouge et Bleu occasionally lacked inspiration, they ultimately secured a 1-3 victory with a rotated squad. Here are our ratings for the Parisian players.
Goalkeeper –
Matvey Safonov (7) – He could have been firmer with his hands on the opening goal, but he went on to make several excellent saves.
Defenders –
Warren Zaïre-Emery (5.5) – Consistently solid and tidy in his play, though he struggled to contribute much offensively in a match that proved difficult for the team as a whole.
Ilya Zabarnyi (6) – Not particularly troubled, yet not especially impressive defensively; he was clean on the ball but failed to inject intensity or break through the opposition’s lines—with the exception of one well-executed aerial pass. He scored the equalizer with a composed finish.
Lucas Hernandez (4) – Made a few good interventions, but was caught slightly out of position for the opening goal. In possession, he could have made better decisions to help dictate the tempo, rather than “forcing” play forward.
Lucas Digne (4) – Tried to contribute by pushing forward frequently and delivering crosses, but lacked precision. Replaced in the 53rd minute by Nuno Mendes.
Midfielders –
Lucas Beraldo (4) – Rather anonymous on the ball, and still not particularly effective at winning back possession. He played a few decent passes, but too often without creating anything of note. Replaced in the 53rd minute by Vitinha. João Neves (6) – Very active in winning back possession; he tried to contribute offensively but sometimes lacked options. Replaced in the 63rd minute by Achraf Hakimi.
Dro Fernandez (5) – While he still lacks a bit of physical power at 18 years old, his technical quality and boldness were helpful at times, bringing some creativity to this reshuffled PSG side. Replaced in the 53rd minute by Désiré Doué.
Forwards –
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (4.5) – Showed a few flashes of inspiration, but the Georgian remains far from his best level. Replaced in the 63rd minute by Ousmane Dembélé.
Ferran Torres (5) – Dangerous early in the match, but struggled to make an impact thereafter.
Maghnes Akliouche (5) – He made an effort—and could have opened the scoring—but generally struggled to exert any real influence on the game. Credit to him for trying.
Manager –
Luis Enrique (7) – PSG weren’t fantastic, but they were very professional, and the rotation worked well: no injuries, and they secured the win.
