This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain (22nd) take on Stuttgart (24th) at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in the 8th round of the Champions League 2024-2025 league phase (kick-off 9pm). On the eve of the match, German coach Sebastian Hoeness announced in a press conference that he might not be able to count on his regular goalkeeper Alexander Nübel (28) due to illness.

“Sebastian Hoeneß with the personnel update: “ The personnel is clear. Alexander #Nübel couldn’t train today. It will be decided tomorrow whether he can play or not. Anthony #Rouault is suspended with the 3rd yellow card and is not available.

There’s no certainty yet, but Nübel could well miss this match and that would be a real problem. He’s an important player, especially against a PSG side that creates chances but is less consistent in finishing them off. Of course, missing him would be no guarantee of scoring goals or winning the match. We’ll need a great performance in any case.
