Speaking on RMC Sport, Olympique Lyonnais president John Textor touched on a number of mercato issues, but above all scratched Paris-Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, whom he calls “the barker”. The Parisian club was quick to respond firmly.
“It’s unfortunate that class and dignity cannot be bought,” said a PSG spokesperson in response to John Textor. “It would have saved Mr. Textor from covering himself in ridicule with outrageous and misleading comments about our president, our club and our supporters. Let him return to reality, and to France, to better understand this Ligue 1 that is so dear to us.”
Another “forging war” between two presidents. Textor doesn’t take kindly to the fact that he is a prisoner of PSG when it comes to advancing his pawns. Who’s right or wrong? There’s probably some truth in what the American says. That said, PSG has a duty to retort, because until proven otherwise, Textor is already having trouble managing his own club.
We know that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi wears too many hats, he’s omnipresent and the little space he leaves must be frustrating for people like Textor, who dreams of dominating in his role as president. Will the two men be able to move forward together in the coming battles?
