Rasheedat Ajibade, a 25-year-old Nigerian striker, is Paris Saint-Germain’s newest signing at the end of the summer transfer window. She gave her first-ever interview for the club’s official website, discussing her excitement, her ambitions, and the capital club’s image within Nigeria.
Ajibade: “It’s a place where I can grow”
“Since I arrived here, I’ve been very excited; I can’t wait for everything to begin. I’m looking forward to the rest of this season. There is a tremendous amount of talent, players, and extraordinary people at this club. I have the opportunity to grow here as a player and a person. It’s a place where I can evolve and learn to become the best version of myself.”
Ajibade: “It’s a place where I’ve seen many players develop.”
“The PSG brand is unique; it’s a club I’ve admired for a very long time. I follow men’s and women’s football a lot. It’s a place where I’ve seen many players develop. Considering the club’s history and its values, I think it’s a great club where many young players can develop.
I follow the French league closely because I have teammates who also play there. So I know it’s a physical and tactical league. It’s an interesting league. I can’t wait to play.”
Ajibade: “PSG also made an impression in Nigeria thanks to Okocha.”
“PSG from Nigeria? I think it’s also one of the best clubs. And of course, if you look at the success of the men’s team, which won the Champions League, PSG also made an impression in Nigeria thanks to Okocha and his exceptional skills.” PSG is part of our family. Many young players, both boys and girls, dream of playing for PSG one day.”
