Here’s our saga. The 5 good reasons to follow a match (with some adaptations sometimes). We’ll revisit the attractive features before each match with a mix of seriousness and humor. Please note, this isn’t an exhaustive overview. We continue here with Paris Saint-Germain’s match this Tuesday against Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena on Matchday 3 of the 2025-2026 Champions League (kick-off 9 p.m., CET).

5 – An original and attacking opponent.

We love big games, but some matches come up a little too often, and we like something a little different. This will be the case with Bayer Leverkusen, who have had an attacking philosophy for several years. This has remained despite a very active transfer window and the departure of coach Xabi Alonso (replaced by Erik Ten Hag, then Kasper Hjulmand). It will be interesting to watch.

4 – Lucas Chevalier needs to get his season off to a good start.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper, who arrived this summer from Lille, is going through a bit of a difficult time. He needs to adapt to his new club, to a different style of play, and to a different rhythm of saves. We can only hope he delivers a benchmark performance as soon as possible, perhaps tonight. At least with a few saves and, if possible, without conceding a goal. That could only do him good.

3 – Zaire-Emery on the road to confirmation?

Warren Zaire-Emery has lost confidence for several weeks, as he mentioned himself. But the 19-year-old midfielder has fought hard to get back into form, and we’ve seen it paying off lately. The youngster is regaining his confidence and making an impact in his game. We hope he can continue this performance tonight to put the period of doubt behind him.

2 – Ousmane Dembélé back.

The 28-year-old striker is back in the squad after a little over a month’s absence. We don’t yet know how much playing time he’ll get, but it’s already excellent news. He’s a creative player who knows how to be decisive, and he can only do good. Not to mention his famous pressing. We’re looking forward to seeing the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner back on the pitch; it would be his first match since winning the trophy.

1 – PSG is back in form.

Dembélé returns, as does Marquinhos (31-year-old central defender and captain). Désiré Doué (20-year-old forward/midfielder) also returned on Friday, as did Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (24-year-old forward). The Parisian squad is strengthening, and we expect to see a little more spark and dominance in the game. Ideally, with a deserved victory at the end.
