Here’s our saga. The 5 good reasons to follow a match (with some adaptations sometimes). We’ll revisit the attractive features before each match with a mix of seriousness and humor. Please note, this isn’t an exhaustive overview. We continue here with Paris Saint-Germain’s (2nd) match this Friday against Angers (7th) at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 2 of Ligue 1 2025-2026 (kick-off 8:45 p.m., CET).

5 – Welcoming Chevalier and Zabarnyi to the Parc.

Lucas Chevalier (23-year-old goalkeeper who arrived from Lille) and Ilya Zabarnyi (22-year-old defender) are the big signings of the Parisian summer. We expect something special from the Parc des Princes to welcome them. They’re always wonderful moments. There’s also Renato Marin (19-year-old goalkeeper who signed after his contract expired at AS Roma), but the number 3 will be less prominent.

4 – Time for the youngsters again?

During this period of physical preparation, there’s logically some rotation, and that provides some opportunities. Including Ibrahim Mbaye (17-year-old striker), but perhaps other options. In any case, it’s an opportunity to see them in action again and for them to show off and progress.

3 – The big return to the Parc des Princes.

Since winning the Coupe de France and the Champions League, PSG hasn’t played at the Parc des Princes. Even though there was a ceremony on June 1st, it’s a reunion for the champions. It’s also the start of their home campaign this season. It could be a memorable evening.

2 – A farewell for Donnarumma?

Chevalier was very well received at PSG, but he’s still replacing a goalkeeper who became a legend by winning the Champions League: Gianluigi Donnarumma (26). The 26-year-old, who only has one year left on his contract, hasn’t officially left yet, but the message is clear. While an official farewell to the Parc des Princes hasn’t yet been announced, we’re expecting messages from the fans. It’s a special moment to look forward to.

1 – Take first place.

PSG is in the top tier as one of the clubs that managed to win on the opening day of Ligue 1. But they’re behind AS Monaco, who have a better goal difference (3-1 against Le Havre). There’s no rush, obviously. But we always like to see PSG in front, and we know this competitive squad is also aiming for that.
