As part of Matchday 3 of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain traveled to face Toulouse Football Club and got a 3-6 win. On the sidelines of the match, Luis Enrique, the Parisian club’s coach, spoke to PSG TV. He gave his thoughts on the match and the masterful performance of João Neves (20-year-old midfielder).

Enrique: “I think we deserved this victory.”

“I think I’m satisfied. It’s normal for us to let up during the last part of the match, but I don’t like that. We have to accept that our opponents can play, and they showed their qualities. I think that as training sessions and matches progress, we need to regain our level.

I think we started the match in the best possible way with our style of play and the intention to score goals.” I think we deserved this victory. It’s always difficult to play away, especially in this stadium, but I think we deserved this success.”

Enrique: “I think it’s an aspect of his game he can improve on.”

“João’s hat-trick? It’s not just his three goals, but the way he scored them. It’s incredible. I think it’s an aspect of his game he can improve on, that he needs to improve on, and I think he will improve on.”

PSG started the match in the best possible way, scoring three goals in the first 15 minutes. From that point on, it was difficult to imagine TFC getting back into the race. Obviously, beyond the outstanding performance, there were also the goals that, for some, have already made the rounds on social media.

João Neves had his best game in a Parisian shirt this Saturday, and perhaps even of his young career. This also proves that he is gaining confidence and is able to develop his game. Technically, he is undeniably one of the best in his position, but managing to produce such a performance proves all his progress and work since his arrival.
