This Saturday evening, Paris Saint-Germain won 3-6 against Toulouse in Matchday 3 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 at the Stadium. Here are the highlights and flops of this victory.
Highlights –
Efficiency.
After some frustrating matches, as PSG failed to capitalize on their chances, we were treated to a nice wave of goals. Including two overhead kicks from João Neves (20-year-old midfielder). It’s good for morale and confidence, especially just before the winter break. Notably, from Ousmane Dembélé (28-year-old striker) and Bradley Barcola (22-year-old striker). There’s nothing better than goals for that.
Lucas Chevalier facing penalties.
When the 23-year-old goalkeeper arrived to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma (26), one of the questions was about a possible loss of form on penalties. But he was decisive against Tottenham during the penalty shootout and saved two tonight (even if it counts as one, since the first was retracted).
Neves was brilliant.
What a player! The 20-year-old midfielder is already impressive in his activity, and he also added three spectacular goals. It’s always enjoyable and a great reward for a player who is a joy to watch on the football pitch.
Flops –
Lack of control.
We loved the goals, the spectacle… but PSG didn’t control this match as much as the first two. We see them conceding three goals, far too many for PSG. Even though Toulouse deserves credit, of course. It’s annoying.
Désiré Doué was messy.
In this great offensive display, the 20-year-old midfielder/forward didn’t quite join in the fun. He was a bit clumsy at times and didn’t always make the right choices. Nothing serious, but it’s a shame, as the evening was generally a good one offensively.
Ousmane Dembélé injured.
The 28-year-old forward didn’t seem seriously injured when he came off, but he did have some muscle discomfort and had to cut his participation in the match short. It’s a minor concern, always a pain. We hope there won’t be any bad news.
